Welcome to Waraba Cricket Club!
Founded in 2022, originally as Moreton Valley Cricket Club, Waraba Cricket Club is a proud foundation member of the Waraba Sports Club and home to the Burners!
Our club is built on the rich heritage of the word ‘Waraba,’ a First Nations term meaning ‘to burn,’ and we bring that same fire and passion to every game we play.
Under the leadership of our dedicated committee:

Waraba Cricket Club is a close-knit community that values enjoyment of the game above all else.
We currently field two senior men’s teams in the Warehouse Cricket Association, playing winter cricket in the north Brisbane region.
While we don’t compete during the summer, our off-season is filled with camaraderie and preparations for the next winter season.
Numpty of the Year
Our approach to cricket is all about fun, family, and friendship. We pride ourselves on doing things a little differently, with a focus on enjoying the game rather than obsessing over the results. Many of our players share the field with their sons, making us a truly family-oriented club. And because we believe that laughter is just as important as the sport itself, we’ve embraced a unique tradition—the Numpty Award. This light-hearted award is passed around each week to the player who’s had a bit of a laughable moment, and at the end of the season, we crown the 'Numpty of the Year.'
